"Trenchmen Academy is a great option for your developing football player.  I have coached over 30 years in several sports and witnessed a vast range of coaching: from really really terrible and clueless to excellent.  I recently stopped by one of Coach Marier's sessions to observe what/how things were going.  I was very impressed with several things:

  1. The session size is small and intimate.  There was a deliberate effort made to make a connection with each player.  It was easy to see how each player felt valued and recognized.  This is a recipe for success and satisfaction.  Coach Marier has expressed his intention to keep it that way as he grows.

  2. The drills were organized, efficient, and deliberate.  There was some built-in rest time, but the session flowed nicely and much was accomplished.  Several players were panting, sweating, and asking for more rest…which was good to see them being pushed to an adequate level for physical and mental growth.

  3. The most impressive aspect was probably the intentional, personal, and immediate input given to each player during all drills.  The message was always delivered in a positive and effective way that didn’t seem to compare athletes or make them feel bad.  The common message was “Your Best”, “You against You”, “Do the Work”.  The kids seemed to respect that approach and so did I."
